Landing Pages

Landing Page Example

In speaking with a fellow marketing expert this morning, it made me start to think.  Here’s the thing…most people overshoot the runway, they forget the basics and in most cases people don’t know the basics.  Landing pages are the key to increasing profits as they will directly impact your bottom line.

With Facebook changing the algorithms monthly, Google Ads tightening things up and with Twitter Cards, technology is in a constant flux of change.  If all this sounds like a different language and you have no idea what I am talking about, don’t worry, you’re not alone.  Many business owners are left puzzled by the world of technology and how to effectively use landing pages.

Building a landing page is an important step in your marketing funnel.  It’s basically the starting/entry point into your funnel.  It’s the doors to your business.  If you do not have one you are losing out on potential customers.

Creating a landing page is not about throwing a form on your web page and hoping for the best.  You need to follow a proven conversion-based system.

Building a lead capture landing page is one of the most important steps in your marketing funnel. It serves as the entry point into your funnel and without one, you’re losing out on leads and customers.

Unfortunately, creating your lead capture landing page isn’t just a matter of throwing up a form on a page and hoping it works. You need to follow proven conversion-based steps:

  1. Start off by defining who your target market is.
  2. Ensure that your design is centred around conversion and not just good looks.
  3. Define the information that you need to collect in your opt-in fields.
  4. Have a compelling headline, such as “How to…”
  5.  Initiate Trust- social media shares or testimonials
  6. Write a paragraph that links the headline to the bullet points
  7. Create 3-5 bullet points which cover the benefits of what you are giving away
  8. Call To ACTION

Here’s where the differentiation happens.  Unaware to others there are other key components that need attending to.  You have to ensure you have tighten a few things on your page to be certain of getting eyes on your page;

  • Privacy Policy
  • Link to your main page
  • Contact details
  • Google Adwords compliant
  • Giving content full of VALUE

Gone are days when you can just put your page out there expecting people to buy.  Don’t think you can get can get away with doing.  Comment in the box below and tell me how you are doing with your landing pages.

To Your Success,
